Hürriyet
Hürriyet was founded by Sedat Simavi in 1948. It was sold to Aydın Doğan in 1994. It is one of the major newspapers in Turkey. On March 22, 2018, it was sold to a member of the pro-government conglomerate, the Demirören group, which already owns the other dailies Milliyet and Vatan.
79 percent of the shares of Hürriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacılık A.Ş are owned by Demirören Media Group.
It is known that the amount of the loan provided by the state bank Ziraat Bank in the sale of Doğan Media Group to Demirören Group was 675 million US dollars and it was a 2-year non-refundable loan with a maturity of 10 years.
According to the meeting minutes reported to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Hürriyet ended the year 2020 with a net loss of 80.8 million.

Sedat Simavi was born in 1896. He founded Hürriyet on May 1, 1948. He was also among the founders of Turkish Journalists' Association (TGC). In 1953, his sons Haldun Simavi and Erol Simavi acceded to the management of Hürriyet after his death.

Tevfik Kınık was born in 1977 in Bingöl. He is a graduate of Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences. In 1999, he became an assistant specialist at the capital markets board (CMB). After leaving the CMB Vice-President position in 2016, he moved to the private sector and worked for Aktif Bank, a part of Çalık Group.
Kınık became the CEO of Demirören Holding in 2019.

Ahmet Hakan was born in 1967 in Yozgat. He graduated from Imam Hatip High School. He studied at the Faculty of Theology of Uludag University for a while. After coming to Istanbul, he worked at the local newspaper called Büyükçekmece Hürbakış for a while.
When Kanal 7 was founded, he contacted General Manager Mustafa Çelik and joined the staff. After working as a reporter for a while, he became the Kanal 7 Television News Director and the main news announcer between 1995-2003. He resigned from Kanal 7 in 2004.
He first started as a columnist for Yeni Şafak. Later, he worked in Sabah and then moved to Hürriyet. As of January 16, 2017, he started to present the Kanal D Main News bulletin, at the same time he became the head of Kanal D news department. He left Kanal D in 2019.
Ahmet Hakan has been presenting the discussion program "Tarafsız Bölge" on CNN TÜRK since 2005.
